Based on what I found, Broken-Heart Syndrome, also called takotsubo cardiomyopathy, usually lasts only a few days to a few weeks.
Symptoms like heart muscle weakness should get better within a few days or weeks. However, some people might feel unwell for a while after the first time.
Sometimes, this condition might happen again to about 4-10% of people.
It can make it hard for the heart to pump blood for a bit, but it usually doesn’t cause any lasting harm to the heart.
Possible issues could be:
– Fluid backing up into the lungs
– Low blood pressure
– Heartbeats not normal
– Heart not working well
– Blood clots in the heart
These issues normally go away as the heart gets better.
The chances of dying from this syndrome are between 0% to 8%, so it’s not usually life-threatening.
In short, Broken-Heart Syndrome is temporary and should go away in days or weeks. While it might cause complications for a short time, it usually doesn’t cause permanent damage to the heart. It’s important to seek medical help if you have any sudden symptoms or issues.
