Happiness is an illusion we all chase.
People are always unhappy. It’s just when people don’t have money (and statistically, most people either struggle or live paycheck-to-paycheck), they hope that more money will make them happy. Because the society conditions us to think this way.
Then they get more money and realize that they are still unhappy. Which makes them feel even emptier inside because they know they got what they strived for—and they still are unhappy. That’s quite discouraging, especially if you sacrificed a lot to get the money you thought you needed to be happy.
So, it’s indeed true that money doesn’t buy happiness. Money buys comfort, but that’s a different thing.
In fact, a lot of people who don’t have a lot of money are actually quite happy—they just don’t realize it, because of society conditioning.
Happiness is the fleeting feeling of the joy of life. You can feel happy just walking by the beach, seeing a gorgeous rainbow or a marvelous sunset, holding a baby, hugging a loved one.
You don’t need money for that.
