The reason some Black men prefer dating light-skinned women such as white women is that they possess a trait that black people find desirable, which is lighter skin.
Furthermore, it is light or light-brown skin; like the skin complexions found in North Africa or Southeast Asia (such as the Philippines and Indonesia) that is seen as desirable, rather than extremely pale skin. In fact, very fair white skin such as the ones found in Europe is sometimes mistaken for albinism by those who are uninformed because they have similar skin and eyes colors with black albinos, and albinism is generally not considered an attractive trait in black society.
Interracial marriage or dating between Black men and white women seem to be a really common trend on TikTok these days.
Both extreme dark skin and extreme light skin are often viewed as less desirable.
