I once encouraged my 3-year-old son to jump into a pool, promising to catch him.
“I’m afraid, Dad!” he said.
“Don’t worry, I’m here for you!”
“But I also see too much water around you, Dad!” he replied.
I struggled to hold back my laughter.
After reassuring him that I loved him and would keep him safe, he finally jumped into my arms, his face glowing with pride.
That moment taught me something important: Sometimes, our fears grow because we focus on the problem instead of the solution.
Here are three ways to overcome fear:
-
Focus on action: Stop dwelling on challenges and concentrate on the small steps that lead to solutions.
-
Invest in knowledge: We often fear what we don’t understand. Learning helps replace uncertainty with confidence.
-
Seek support: Find mentors who have overcome similar challenges and surround yourself with people who share your goals.
Ask yourself: What fear is holding you back from achieving your potential?
Focus on progress, ask for help when necessary, and don’t spend your life trapped by fear.
