So, my wife swears she loves me, and she does things for me; cooking, laundry, etc. But no sex. She blamed it on perimenopause at one point, on my struggles with ED, but when our marriage counselor and I pointed out that sexual intimacy doesn’t require penetrative sex and other things can be done, she responded that she would rather stab her eyeballs with needles.
Anyway, at one point earlier to all this, even when we did have sex, she had encouraged me to find a girlfriend: as she put it, she didn’t care who I had sex with as long as I didn’t divorce her or get anyone pregnant – so we wouldn’t need to pay child support.
First of all, great? Except although there are clearly women out there willing to date a married men, they aren’t exactly common, and not easy to find, particularly for a mid 50s guy who is so-so in looks and, while doing decent, isn’t rich either. So….
She even told her daughter this (19 yo) who when she found out about my complaint said “I don’t get it, mom said its ok, just go find a bitch to fuck, what’re you complaining about?”
Some women don’t get that men actually want intimacy beyond sex; we want to feel desired and wanted. Its not just about having sex, its about having a woman who wants and desires us.
So, subject came up again today; she wanted to know why I wasn’t talking to her lately – we have other issues besides the sex. I told her I really didn’t want to talk to her anymore. She was shocked and upset, but during the discussion of our OTHER problems, the above conversation came up, and she said, “Just go find a prostitute!”
Seriously. Not sarcastically or insultingly. She actually meant that. And then said she had been losing interest in sex years before perimenopause hit, and then returned to my ED and other issues and why would this even be a problem for me.
Sigh….
