YOU NEVER USE YOUR PHONE IN A TOILET!!

When we are in the toilet, our phone is our main source of fun.

Many of us take our phones into the bathroom without thinking much about it. If you forget your phone, you might end up reading labels on shampoo bottles or detergents instead. However, using your phone in the bathroom may expose you to harmful bacteria such as E. coli, salmonella, and other germs.

Hygiene expert Lisa Ackerley explains that after wiping yourself and immediately reaching for your phone, bacteria can easily transfer from your hands onto the device.

This means that even if you wash your hands afterward, your phone may still carry bacteria that can be transferred back onto your hands the next time you touch it.

The right thing to do

Health experts suggest avoiding taking your phone into the bathroom if possible, as this reduces the risk of transferring bacteria.

If you must bring it with you, try placing it farther away and avoid touching it until after washing your hands. This helps prevent contamination.

In smaller and less frequently used restrooms, such as a private office bathroom, the risk may be lower because fewer people use the space. However, in places like hospitals or heavily used public restrooms, where many bacteria and viruses may be present, the risks can be much higher.
