Is age just a number in a relationship?

To an extent, yeah, but usually the people lying to themselves are the ones saying this.

What can a 70-year-old man have in common with a 30-year-old Filipino woman? Yep, nothing. Other than security and an escape from poverty.

Me? I’m 51. I’ve never dated anyone more than a couple years outside my age range. Not saying I wouldn’t, but it wouldn’t be drastic—maybe 43+.

Mentally, a big age gap puts people on completely different levels. But if you’re some creep, or an emotionally undeveloped older person, then a 20–30 year age gap probably sounds appealing.

The older I get, the more attractive I find women who have a little age on them. You don’t have to be some smooth-skinned, perky-titted, firm-assed 25-year-old. Carry yourself well, have some independence, a little confidence, but some vulnerability too, and that goes further than anything age could ever compensate for.

Until then, you old creepy fuckers can keep lying to yourselves. While you think you look good with the arm candy, people are looking at you a lot differently, trust me. If they aren’t saying it, they’re thinking it.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

For me, it’s about conversations and similarities. And there’s no one 20 years younger than me who’s ever going to relate. That’s assuming you’ve lived your life with any sense of awareness.

If not?

You’ll believe your own lies while the girl you’re dating despises you almost as much as any self-aware man does.

And I was never a father. And the hell if I’m going to be one at 70 and date my daughter.
