A Nigerian dispatch rider has appealed for help in a video shared on X, saying he is worn out by the struggle to provide for his family.
The man describes himself as a professional mechanical engineer. He says he left his job about five years ago and later picked up more training. He says he still has three certificates, but he has not found customers or steady work in his field.
According to him, dispatch riding was not his choice. He says he turned to it because he needed to feed himself and his family.
He also complained about constant pressure on the job. He named the police, LASMA, VIO and road safety officials, and said customers also pile pressure on riders. These are his own claims, and none of the agencies has responded.
He asked for support to travel abroad so he can return to mechanical engineering, and said he is ready to pay back anyone who helps him. He ended his message by saying, “I’m tired of this Nigeria.”
