A Nigerian woman has shared the story of her cousin, who reportedly rejected a fully funded scholarship in India because of his girlfriend.
Writing on X as @kenkenlewu, she said he was in 300 level in 2020 when he got the offer to study Computer Engineering. Family urged him to go, but she claims his girlfriend threatened to end the relationship if he left Nigeria.
He stayed, saying, “I can’t risk my relationship.”
After NYSC, the lady allegedly gained admission to study for a master’s degree in the United Kingdom. He suggested a dependent visa, but she reportedly said, “I want to be alone over there and concentrate on my new life.”
The couple broke up. According to the post, she later married another man and now has two children.
Her cousin, the poster claims, is now doing POS business in Nigeria.
