Comedian Parrot Mouth says LilWin, not Kanayo O. Kanayo, is the real problem in the row over Ghanaian actors and their pay.
Kanayo, a veteran Nollywood actor, recently stirred debate when he questioned why some Ghanaian actors expect pay similar to established Nigerian stars. Many Ghanaians criticised him for it.
Parrot Mouth, a Nigerian-Ghanaian-based comedian, disagrees with those critics. He says they should “bow your heads in shame.”
He turned his attention to LilWin, who brought the Nigerian actors to Ghana for a movie shoot. Parrot Mouth claims LilWin made Ghanaian actors look “cheap” in front of the visitors by speaking about them, and about the money spent on the Nigerian stars, at the airport.
He also rejected claims that the Ghanaian film industry is dying. In his view, the industry is not dead, but some people are helping to collapse it.
LilWin’s response was not included in the report.
